First Post in a While and Tournament on the 27th

There's a tournament at Tower this Saturday, and I'm going to participate this time around.

I haven't been playing nearly enough WarmaHordes lately, and I really dropped off posting.  However, I'll do reports for this tournament, and probably get around to posting my thoughts from Adepticon later on.

On to this tournament!  Part of me really wants to play with eMorghoul's new theme force, which certainly seems strong enough to make him playable, but a much more reasonable part of me knows I need more practice with my main Warlocks.  So I'll be taking Makeda 3, along with a secondary drop to take on the matchups she has trouble with.  Very likely, that drop will be Mordikaar, who I still need practice with, but I also really like Zaal, pMakeda, and pHexeris, so there's a chance I'll sub in one of them.

I'll post my results early next week.

  1. Play with Zaal. We can always use more battle reports with Zaal, and he's fun to play. Unsure if he fills the gaps for your Makeda 3 list, but if you internet followers could vote, it's currently a landslide for Zaal ;)

  2. Ha! The people have spoken I see. I can get more practice with Mordikaar later. I'll have to modify the list a little so it plays well against Cryx, but that shouldn't be too hard.

  3. Well, I really wanted to try out Despoiler with Zaal, because it seems like there's a lot of synergy between the two.

So I'll probably run a list pretty similar to my standard Zaal list, but with Despoiler and a Cyclops Shaman in the mix to help out against Cryx (especially Body and Soul).

  5. Welcome back and looking forward to it. I took Mak3 and Zaal to an event on the 28th, actually. It was okay. This thread has some thoughts on pairing the two (scroll down to Muffinman's discussion:

    http://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?214562-Skorne-Tournament-Pairings

I took exactly his two list pairing as I've been wanting to learn Zaal. I also really like his Mak3 list and have played it successfully into Butcher3 and Gaspy2. The Gaspy2 game is FUNKY but with the Gobbers, Aggy, and Midwinter you can hold back the tide long enough to get BLT and then it is just a dance of Molik vs. Gaspy.

Can't wait to dojo a bit. I'm waffling about Mak3 as I keep finding myself wanting to play with the True Missile (eMak's Molik) but at the same time murdering stuff with the Talon of Murzhoul is the best kind of murdering stuff.

Morghoul2 tier list is great fun. Need more reps with it.

Want to do Zaal with Slaughterhousers again. There is a Hungarian player who rocks something like

    Zaal -5
    Basilisk Drake +4
    Cyclops Raider +5
    Cyclops Raider +5
    Farrow Slaughterhousers +6
    Farrow Slaughterhousers +6
    Nihilators (max) +8
    Ancestral Guardian +3
    Ancestral Guardian +3
    Ancestral Guardian +3
    Hakaar the Destroyer +4
    Mortitheurge Willbreaker +2
    Orin Midwinter +2
    Paingiver Task Master +2
    Saxon Orrik +2

I don't think this pairs right with Mak3 due to taking Midwinter but I know you don't always take him with her. I just see so much B3 in my meta.

Lastly, a local player mentioned a really, really goofy Zaal list I want to try:

    Immortal Host Tier 4
    Supreme Aptimus Zaal
    Basilisk Krea
    Aptimus Marketh
    Praetorian Swordsmen Min x2
    Immortals Min x2
    Ancestral Guardian x7
    Hakaar the Destroyer
    Extoller Soulward x2

Zaal functions as a second Krea/feat bot/soulbot and you treat Marketh as the "caster," Last Standing and trading AG's with abandon.

Now I have a week and a half to prep for the Bay Area Open. Looking forward to your thoughts and dojo!
